Golf Etiquette

  1. Safety must be your number one priority, not only your own but that of other people.
  2. Do not play until the players in front are out of range.
  3. Please repair pitch-marks.
  4. Please replace divots.
  5. If a ball is lost invite the following players to play through immediately. DO NOT WAIT FOR THREE MINUTES.
  6. Keep up with the game in front. If you lose a complete hole invite those following to play through.
  7. Keep buggies and trolleys well away from greens and teeing areas.
  8. Only 2 people are allowed on a buggy at any one time
  9. Mobile telephones should be kept on silent at all times and voice calls only permitted in an emergency
  10. Players are expected to stop at the half way house when open, if you prefer not to, please acknowledge this with the group in front.

Although the above rules and regulations impose some restrictions, we hope that organisers and their members will appreciate the efforts made at Wellingborough to maintain the standards and traditions of the Club.

Dress Code Regulations applicable to Ladies and Gentlemen members and visitors.

A clean, smart standard of dress is expected both on the course and in the clubhouse.

The table below shows dress which is acceptable (√) and dress NOT acceptable (X) for both ladies and gentlemen.

For Ladies

  • Tops with collars may be worn with or without sleeves. Tops without collars must have a high neck and sleeves
  • Tailored shorts / skirts/ skorts should be no more than 4″ above the knee
  • Smart cropped trousers are acceptable both in the Clubhouse and on the Course.

For Gentlemen

  • All shirts must have a collar both in the Clubhouse and on the Course.
  • Tailored shorts are acceptable provided they do NOT extend below the knee nor shorter than 3 inches above the knee.
  • Short socks, including trainer socks, may be worn.  They must be an appropriate plain colour.
  • The dress code for the upstairs dining room will be stipulated by the event organiser but should be a minimum of smart casual attire.

METAL SPIKED GOLF SHOES ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE COURSE BETWEEN MAY 1ST AND OCTOBER 31ST.

MOBILE PHONES MUST BE KEPT ON SILENT, IN THE BAR OR IN THE DINING ROOMS.

STAFF HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO ASK ANY PERSON TO LEAVE THE PREMISES (COURSE OR CLUBHOUSE) IMMEDIATELY IF THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT BEING RESPECTED.
